Monetary Loss: $0
Many calls and voice messages saying they are from the SSA 980-365-5804, 619-858-5218, 410-621-9207, 980-367-4800.
Called me on the phone saying they would give me a lower interest rate on my account with capital one they knew what my balance was down to the cents and my 4 last digits to my social security number. I want to make sure they cant get into my social security account.
Received phone call from a man with an accent who identified himself as Robin White, from SS Administration, Badge No. G****, Case No. ***897, Reference No. ***41. He stated that my SS number was used in Rowlepp, TX to rent a Toyota Corolla, VIN no. T***98. Inside the rental car my SS no. was found and was tied to a drug and money laundering case and also tied to several financial institutions. They wanted my permission to change my SS no. I was told that my current accounts would be frozen and I could be arrested. I told him I would call SS admin. and inquire about this call. Was told that if I hung up on that secure line, officers would be sent to my door to arrest me. I told them that SS does not call people on phone and why had I not received anything in the mail. He said that they wanted to get in touch with me right away regarding me changing my SS no. Was told that my line was being recorded for a while to determine my involvement. When I became irate, was allowed to speak to a "higher authority". Was told by him that my accounts would be frozen and I would arrested. Told him investigating me would probably be his easiest job and they hung up on me. I am reporting because older citizen could be very frightened by this and relent.
I received a letter from Social Security Administration on November 7, 2019 informing me that they have made a appointment for me for Nov 19, 2019 1:15 on that date they would call me at my home number concerning my SSI case.
