Monetary Loss: $0
I just received a phone call from 1-800-772-1213, saying they were social security office and had filed suit against me for fraudulent use of social security. Told me to press a number to speak to someone. I hung up. It was a recorded message.
Is there anything I need to do? I'm assuming S.S. would never contact someone by phone with that type message.
Received a call from someone claiming to be social security stating there has been suspicious activity on my social security card. Asked me to get pad and paper to write down his name, and badge number and then hung up.
Received Several phone calls from above number claiming to be a SS representative, claiming my Number had been reported as compromised in Texas. I called SS office at 1 800 772 1213 and was instructed to report call and phone number to the attorney generals office. I blocked the above number from my phone.
