  • Monetary Loss: $493.00
Someone saying they were from Eversource called and said our bill is past due, then requested immediate payment.
" Service will be terminated if not paid in an hour." Really I said ,
I told him I was in the middle of things, give your number and I'll call you back in 5 minutes. He gave me 800 813 3735 x202. I later called back, the greeting seemed genuine as well as the prompts. I was
just getting off the phone with my brother regarding our mother's bad health and didn't really think it through. Ok ok I said!
They instructed me to get a prepaid card, I did.
Later in the day they called back saying I needed to make a deposit on the account that was never done. They wanted another $986.64 or the service would be shut off within the hour. I said ok I'll take care of it. Then i pulled out my bill, called the number on the statement after a few minutes of conversation I realized I was had .
There timing couldn't have been better. Get someone when there mom is dying.
