I received a call and a text offering a discount on my AT&T bill for 3 years if I bought $900 in Ebay gift cards and called them back with the card numbers. They seemed to know enough about my AT&T Account to be legitimate. I foolishly bought the cards at a local BestBuy store, with Chase credit cards, and called them with the Redemption codes. They then sent me a text stating that there was a problem in processing the cards and to call the (888) number to resolve it. On the call they stated that the problem would be resolved by me buying another $900 in eBay cards and they would Fedex a check for $950 to refund the previous cards. It was at this point that I became suspicious and saw a news item about the scam. I called Chase bank to try & report the fraud and dispute the charge but that it not possible since I authorized the purchase. The attached file shows the text messages I received.
