Monetary Loss: $249.00
My computer was taken over - loud alarm - screen telling me I had a virus, etc. Told me they were with Microsoft and they could fix the problem. I fell for all of it and allowed them the $249 - for a 3 year contract, etc. They may be a legal software company but the way they took over my computer should be illegal! I am an elderly woman and I fell for it! After completing all this I called my son, and he informed me I had been scammed into this contract, etc. Hopefully, I will still have a computer and I will be smart after learning a very hard lesson! Hopefully, I will not have to pay for what they have done and I will not lose anything else because of what I allowed them to do! There are 3 emails from the billing site but I do not have them to add below to the supporting documents.

Just like the above complaint mine is exactly the same > "My computer was taken over - loud alarm - screen telling me I had a virus, etc. Told me they were with Microsoft and they could fix the problem. I fell for all of it and allowed them the $249 - for a 3 year contract, etc. They may be a legal software company but the way they took over my computer should be illegal! My 67 year old mother was scammed by Absolute Softech Ltd

Monetary Loss: $499.00
My mother was over visiting for the holidays and kept getting repeated phone calls from what she thought was a telemarketer. I finally took the call for her and a man with a thick foreign accent said he was calling to talk to her about her computer. When I kept pressing him for more information he said that my mother had purchased a "protection plan on her computer in July of 2016" and he was giving her a "free call." However, he could not explain what the call was FOR. While he was on the phone I asked her what he was talking about and she said that when she went to use her computer (which she RARELY ever uses and doesn't quite know HOW) she got a message that her computer "was broken and full of viruses" and that this company was through Microsoft and could help her "clean it up". She was completely naive and had NO IDEA that this was NOT a legitimate company and gave them her credit card and they charged her $499 for a "Three Year Contract". For the next 45 minutes I spent talking to FOUR different people and all of which were of foreign descent, completely RUDE, not one shred of professionalism in ANY MANNER and they ALL eventually hung up on me. As soon as I told the first person that my mother was an elderly invalid person who didn't use her computer and had no idea what she was buying and that I knew it was a scam he immediately hung up. We called back and the second guy and I went around and around again with everything. At first, he said he was technical support only and when I asked for a customer service number he said there wasn't one that he was the only one I could talk to. When I told him he was contradicting himself he would just change the subject and go right back to insisting the calls she was getting were "free" but again could not explain to me the actual PURPOSE of the calls to her. (Obviously, it was to get more money out of her.) He kept changing his story about how many days or the time she would have had to cancel the service. When I asked how we get her out of the contract he said: "It's too late, too bad, she has service for one year already!" Yet he said that she bought the contract in July of 2016 which obviously has been just six months ago. When I said I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau he actually yelled at me "Go ahead! I will give the number you myself". (Which by the way when all was said and done we went onto the BBB's website and it says very clear in all capital letters "THIS BUSINESS IS NOT BBB CREDITED" and their rating is an F. There were several stories of the EXACT same scam from this company.) He would not even give me the company's name or address and when I asked the actual physical location he was calling from, meaning the state or country he kept saying "I TOLD YOU!" which he hadn't. When I told him I was recording the phone call he said "I do not give permission" and hung up on me. We called back again and spoke to two more people at length. We spoke to a man first with the same outcome which was nothing, and when I demanded to speak to a supervisor a woman came on the line named "Michelle Davis" and she went from "too late she already paid this service" to "our Resolution Department has to call you". I told her that two other people had hung up on me and her response was "Those are low-level guys they cannot help you". However, as soon as I told her after ten minutes of getting NOWHERE with her, that the entire phone call had been recorded she suddenly said "You have to email to write your words and they will call" and she hung up. I was able to get a name and mailing address for the company, 2023 N. 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA. This entire fiasco was so stressful on not just me for dealing with it for almost an hour last night, but for my poor mother who is completely embarrassed and feels so guilty for falling for the scam. She honestly had no clue what she was doing. I am now in the process of helping her cancel her credit card, put a fraud warning on her credit report, file reports with the BBB, Federal Trade Commission in PA, the PA Attorney General's office and ANY other company I can relay this story too. When or if am able to get supporting documents of any kind I will repost.
An agent kept calling me. He told me they had different offers. I took the 599.99. They even called my bank I cannot believe this and took my routing number and bank account number. Then they had Rightsignature.LLC and I had to sign a better bureau. They sent the information to RightSignature.com. Their address is 8 E. Figueroa ST., Santa Barbara, CA 93101
I was online paying bills when suddenly my screen came up with a warning from Microsoft. A female recording warned not to try to close the screen & that I must call a number immediately as my info, bank accts. etc. had been compromised. I proceeded to call the # because I thought it was from Microsoft. I spoke to several Techs, they took control of my pc and proceeded to delete, add, & whatever else they did. By the time I was done, it cost me $279.99. I don't know what to do. They have already taken it out of my bank acct. Please help me. Is this company legit?
