Amazon Scams

This lady had a story about her husband who had died and had his camper for sale for 1,500. First, she said she would have it sent to me. Then she indicated to be sure everything was on the up and up to have me buy three amazon cards of $500. each. They gave me the amazon # to call in the numbers which we did and were told they would call us back, which they didn't so we called Amazon several times and reported it as a scam. They said they don't keep a record of all the amazon cards. That doesn't make sense. Please help. P.S. I asked why so cheap, she just made it sound like she wanted to get rid of it. I have many more files I can send through e-mail when I hear from you.

[email protected] posted on Craigslist that he was selling a truck due to the fact that he will be deploying to Afghanistan therefore needed to sell the truck immediately and wanted us to send him the payment through Amazon as a 3rd party. Luckily we haven't gone through with any payment and decided to look up this guy through google. To our dismay, we've found him scamming others as well.

Saw a deal that was too good to be true so I decided to investigate some more and email the person. I found that the pictures used were for a truck for sale in TX.

This person also sent me the reason of selling.

The price for the truck is $ 9500 (including delivery and handling to your address). I'm selling this truck because my child of only 26 years died 2 months ago in a bike accident, the truck belonged to my son and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it. I and my husband travel a lot with our business and we want to make this deal through Amazon, so if you're interested in purchasing the truck just reply me your full name, full address, and phone number, so I can notify Amazon. Once that is done, they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.Also, I attached you some photos of the truck.

I found that there are a few people who are using the son passing away from an accident. These people really have no heart. Trying get others to feel bad so they can try to scam.

Anyways.. at this moment I knew it was a scam and asked for this person to call me. they replied with this.

Hi again, the car is stored with all the paperwork in Amazon warehouse, in Omaha, NE headquarters in a container,sealed and ready for delivery. Like I told you I travel a lot and I prepared the sale with Amazon.

The transaction will be made thru Amazon, all you have to pay for the car is $9500(delivery is already prepared and paid by me). You will have 5 days for inspection. During all this time Amazon will keep safe the money into a trust account.
So, this is not a blind transaction,you can see the car before decide to buy it. If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform Amazon about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it Amazon will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. But I don't think that this will be necessary because the car is like in the pictures and how I described it.You will receive the car with all the necessary papers notarized to pass at your name (clear title, bill of sale, user’s manual, insurance etc).
If you want to start the transaction with Amazon reply me your full name, delivery address and your phone, then Amazon will contact you with further instructions.

PS:The car comes with all the documents (title, bill of sale, full service records, keys, etc.) It has a clear title in my name. The title will be signed into your name as soon as the payment will be sent to Amazon . The car will be delivered to your address in 2-3 days after Amazon will confirm your payment.

Do not buy anything from anyone using the dead son story please!!

was paying direct tv by phone,gift card # 6113 4813 4133 **** amazon card. phony scam, traced my card to Tim Vvanderhousen who used my money to pay on his own amazon account. several contacts made to amazon, give me the runaround for weeks now said they won't reverse the charges and refund my money, they have my stolen money and will not return it nor will they give me the address of the thief, they don't care. filed complaint with better business bureau northwest DuPont wa. this thief was well organized and did not work alone, I am sure several more people were scammed by him. I want to get him stopped and prosecuted and my money back before he can do this to more people. I have several emails from direct tv and amazon and the better business beau and the federal trade commission. I wish to prosecute the thief but need further info which amazon refuses to give. I would appreciate your help in this matter thanks Gary

I bought 3 Amazon cards for Sat 500 a piece they got the codes and cashed in on them and haven't heard back from them

I will briefly describe the transaction steps so I can make things clearer for both of us.The total price which you will have to pay for the car is $4,000. At the moment I'm stationed in Alaska making final preparations before deploying to Afghanistan with the U.S. Convoy.The car is already at our Military Logistic Department in Fort Dearborn in Chicago IL crated and ready to go. The Logistic Department will deliver the car to your home. The shipping is free for you as you may know we can ship a car/bike/etc from home to the base and back one time in a year for free.... Since the car is in a military base, with no access you can not go there and take it, only the Logistic Department can deliver it, because the car is in their custody. Shipping may take anywhere between 2 max 3 days depending on the destination. All documents you need for ownership, manuals, title and bill of sale will be provided along with the car.
For the payment I would like to use Amazon as a third party. They will keep your money into a protection account until you get the car and will release it to me after inspection period is over and you agree to keep the car and to eliminate any concerns you will have 5 days to inspect the car. If you decide not to keep it Amazon will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back will be my concern. I think this is more than fair for both of us.
