In response to a phone call from American Helping Hands, my husband who suffers from mild dementia, thought he was making a pledge to contribute to a social service organization that helps the blind, He said the organization was sending freezer bags for his donation. When the freezer bags arrived there was an invoice, with an account number and an order number for the bags, and a charge of $45.00.. When we didn't respond to the invoice we received harassing phone calls demanding payment for his alleged account. On July 8,2019 we received an invoice that said, " if the account is not paid in full by Friday, July 12, 2019 it will be turned over to a collection attorney." We have stopped answering phone calls from this organization, and I drafted a letter to them to return the plastic bags but when I researched their address xxx 7th AVE. South, Birmingham, AL 35233, it appears to be fraudulent.
