AUTO WRAP "PAID TO DRIVE" SCAM

  • by: paul

  • Jan 8, 2016
  • Monetary Loss: $1800
I received an email about wrapping your vehicle, and receiving $350/week to drive with the advertisement on the car. It required that I open an account which Mark deposits the money, and I send funds off to the car wrap people. As it turns out all of the funding he put into that account is from bad checks. The bank allowed me to take out the money for a week until they finally found out the checks were fraudulent. Now I am on the hook for the money I sent to the "wrapper team"

Auto Wrap

Received email from someone posing as a rep from Bud Light beer offering $400 per week to allow them to put a "Bud Light Wrap" on my car. I would go about my regular life driving around with an advertisement for Bud Light on my car and get paid $400 a week for being a moving billboard.
I accepted and then I received a text with no name from the phone listed above with instructions on what to do with a check being sent to me. See attached photos of check sent and letter.
I texted back the number and said obviously this isn't legitimate and count me out. I still have the letter and check that were sent.

I received a Priority Mail with the check but I haven't open the envelope because the mailer name came from A-1 Technology Inc., 30300 Agoura Rd., Agoura Hills, CA. 91301 and not from Rockstat Energy Drink I google the address and didn't match business. I make me feel suspicious that why I haven't open the envelope. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks
