I was asked to put a car wrap on my car as advertising
Nov 9, 2020
Monetary Loss: $2400.00
I was asked to put a car wrap on my car as advertising and I would be compensated $600.00 a week however their check bounced and was returned now I am on the hook for the money I was trying to deposit
I found this on line (Facebook) too good to be true “advertise and get paid “. They sent me instructions on what to do nice FAKE check $3,700 Bank of America The address on the envelope is a. 66 yr. old in California hmm red flags not even associated with the company. Phone number to call 904-348-0641. Jacksonville Florida.
They sent me a check for $2580 I was to send 2080 to a company and keep $500 and when they come and put the wrap on my car then I would receive $500 a week. Well the check cleared I did what they ask . Now they are wanting me to send the other 500 . I texted them and told them it was a scam they ask why I said because this is not what we agreed on . Haven’t heard back.
This is a campaign to target college students. They ask you to apply to put a small decal on your vehicle and they will pay you. Each is a specific campaign, available only due to your demographics. I was not told what this campaign will be. The check is written on Bank of America with the Anti-Defamation League in New York CIty. The instructions state to deposit the check into my bank. When funds clear, I am to text the number so they can arrange a wrap tech to come to me to install this. I am not dumb with wraps, and it is not done at my home. Total scam because the bank route number is not found online with Bank of America. It does not come back with any information. The check is real, as the security features are there. The account itself isn't. My bank friend looked it up! I am going Monday morning to Bank of America to do more research. Also, I called the HOTEL where this is shipped from, they have no idea who sent it but have been getting calls about it.
