I posted an item on craigslist.com. a woman named Cheryl Bennet answered my ad saying that she was interested in my item so I emailed her back to ask when she would like to meet to pick up the item. She didn't email me and tell me that she has left town that she was just in time for the while visiting her daughter and that she will mail me a check for the item and arrange pickup. She email me from several different email addresses so I've emailed her back and asked her why she said that the one email address with her main email address. She didn't sent me email stating that she had sent a check to me overnight for the amount of the item plus $50 for all the running around I did which I didn't do any of and extra money for the movers who were coming into town to pick up her daughters things and if I could pay them with the extra money that she sent. Incidentally she never told me what part of town she was in. Some of the words in her email were not in the correct tense. I did not respond to that email by then I knew that something was wrong, but she emailed me again asking if I didn't received her email. I did not respond to that email either then I got a text from a number I did not recognize asking for my name. I text back asking who it was and did not get a response. So then I called the number and a recording came on saying that it was a Google subscriber and for me to wait while they contacted the Google subscriber. No one picked up. After while I got a text from a woman claiming to be Cheryl Bennett saying that she sent me email and if I had received it and read it about the movers.

I was looking for a small truck. Ran into this one. It was beautiful. They were only asking 1500$. I texted the number that they had. They replied back that I can contact them through their email.(rebecca............) I asked them a few questions. And they replied that they were getting rid of it cause she was in a med unit in the national guard that was getting deployed to Afghanistan March 18th. And she didn't want to pay storage or insurance for it. Cause she is gonna be gone for a year. I asked if I could come look at it. She said no cause the truck and her are in Nevada army base. But if I was serious she could take care of getting it delivered to my house in 2-3 days. And then keep it for an additional 5 days to see how I like it. She said she belongs to the eBay motors something. So that's how all that would get done. Didn't sound right. So I read some of the example scams and sure enough there was one almost identical to the one she had told me. A few words were different. But as far as going to Afghanistan, didn't want to pay additional fees, truck has no scratches or dents. It was like I was reading a clone of what was presented to me. Unreal. No wonder everyone uses eBay. Im sure there are scams there to but I think it's more reliable. Who knows. I no I'm not using any of these sites anymore. Car dealership here I come. I just wanted a cheap truck to use to go back and forth to work and thought this would be the way to go. Learned the hard way. But at least I didn't lose any money.

I post a good for sale in craigslist and received a text from 858-905-7600 saying that his step mom was interested in buying but her phone has the screen cracked and to send her and email. I did and received the following email, which is a scam to get personal information for stolen identity:
From: Lesley Robert [mailto:[email protected]]

Subject: Re: Lazy Susan Dining Room Set for Sale

I appreciate your response,i will like to purchase your item but the only way I can is through a Check which I will mail to you through UPS

I am willing to wait for the check to clear before the pickup is done. I will be responsible for the pickup and it will be done by my movers, their payment will be included in the check I mail to you. This is all due to me being deaf and It makes it hard to deal with this,Also it will make this transaction better and quicker.

I know you were not expecting this and I would have loved to come for the viewing but I cant.I really want this and am offering an extra 50 for you to delete the Ad and reserve it for me, Am settling into my new house and looking for good deals

If you are okay with this please send me extra pictures if you have some and get back to me with

1}Your Full name.
2}Your Physical address because ups delivers to just physical addresses and the final price after including the extra 50

I saw a Nissan maxima for sale on craigslist for 1500 and i decided to buy it. i then paid it off with some ebay gift cards and called this number 866-688-8650 to finish the payment. They claimed to be ebay workers when i called. Today i called ebay and asked about the car and getting a refund but they said it showed that i had bought the item already and but that something about it being a scam and that they had no more info about the car. I wanted a refund but they said they couldnt do anything about it since i payed with eBay gift cards. I was sent images by a fake ebay account about the car and carfax stuff vin check and the car title. It was really convincing. Now i lost the money and cant get a refund. Be careful people. I hope they catch them soon before they get more people with a scam.
