Job offer scam and harassment
I applied on line to be a mystery shopper. I received an email saying what my first assignment was. I wasn't quite sure who Intelligent Graders were at the time because that wasn't who listed the job. On 1/31 I received a check for $1,795 and was instructed to deposit it into my account. Make notes of my experience at the bank. I was to then proceed to Walmart and request a moneygram be sent in the amount of $1,420 to a person that was listed on the letter that was sent with check. I was also to take notes about my experience at Walmart. My earnings would be $350 and $25 would be the fee for the moneygram. I spoke with my husband about this and upon looking into it there are many scams like this out there. I kept getting emails from this company in less than 24 hours of getting the asking me if I completed the check. When I told them what I found out I was assured they were 100% legal and cleared by the FBI. I told them I was returning the check. They said I needed to complete the assignment because they were inconvenienced for mailing it priority and that was costly. I kept getting emails about completing the assignment. I mailed the check back after writing VOID across it and scribbling on it. I told them this. They asked where I mailed it. I said to the address on the envelope. I was told I should have asked for the PO Box address because mail gets lost all the time to the street address. I threatened them with legal action. They won't stop harassing me. I've never been able to locate an actual office through my white page app. The person they wanted me to moneygram the money to doesn't even exist. I think this company needs some looking into.
