Medicare advantage supplement insurance

I was called by them to purchase a Medicare supplement. After thinking about it (after giving them all my info!!) they did not recognize a very well known insurer (UPMC), and did not know if there were any limits on income to receive the policy. Medicare informed me that I had requested to be unrolled from the UPMC policy I have, but I did not request this. They seemed to be taking information for Aetna insurance, but when a insurance specialist checked Aetna, there were no policies pending that had been entered in my name. In checking the phone number given, there is no record found. Could not be a legitimate business.

I have problem with my right knee as well. The woman sounded above broad to me since I had just went for my back and she knew about my back issues. She had my address and knew the name of my of my pcp. She asked for my medicare number and yes I gave it to her like a dummy, I thought about and started to think maybe all she wanted was medicare number. So I'm alerting you my medicare number may be fraudulently. I wanted to alert someone in cause they try to use my number.

I received a call from a self identified person John William from "Medicare Health Department" saying I needed a new Medicare card. I gave him more information than I should have, including my existing Medicare # which is also my Social Security #. As the call progressed I became suspicious because he seemed to know too much about me--like my primary doctor and clinic. So I hung up.
