Almost scammed by Whole Foods Evaluation

Saw this quick survey on Facebook about whole foods and it promised I think $450 for doing this survey. I knew it was ridiculous but I did the survey anyway. A couple of weeks later I received a letter size envelope in the mail from Sunflag construction out of San Francisco, Ca. I opened it and there was a check for $1450.00. It told me to do whatever with the check but let them know what my bank had - atm, mobile deposit, or regular bank deposit. But, of course, don't forget to keep my $450.00 out for me and then use the $1000.00 to purchase (2) Nike gift cards at various stores and they show vaguely these different stores to shop, then for you to email them store address, name of cashier, customer service, etc. The more I thought about this, the more I knew it was a scam so I got online and checked Sunflag construction, Ray Richmond, and the phone number. Couldn't find anything really but I sure found this - mystery shopping scam!!! Ya'll beware because they are out there and want your information and will do anything to get it!!!

Whole Foods - Customer Service Evaluation Tool (CSET)
Received USPS Priority Mail from a click-N-Ship slip return address BBUNET Logistics Inc. LLC; 570 S. Van Ness Ave; San Francisco, CA 94110-4054.
In side the envelope was instructions and a cashier's check for $1,950.52. I was instructed to deposit the check at my bank, purchase 3 American Express Gift Cards totaling $1500. Keep $50.00 aside for further instructions and Keep $400.00 as payment for the job. I did none of the above. The first thing I did was researched this for scams. Thank God! So I am now reporting this for others who may fall victim to this scam.
The assignment was to purchase the card from stores that sales American Express Gift cards, open pack, peel the silver scratch-off area, capture image of card, front and back, do not discard the card, capture the image of the receipts, Complete the following questions: get store name, address, date and time of visit, name of the cashier, did the store clerk thank you, what was your overall experience with staff in the store, how long it took to get checked out, don't let the store know you are observing them. email or text information to 346-200-2388 or [email protected]

I got the check but I'm not going to deposit it. I'm going g to take it to my local FBI agency to make sure the check is real. There are a lot of scams going on right now.
