A woman with an Indian accent called my home at approx 0513 this AM and said that she was from the Technical Dept of Windows. I asked who she was and just stated the same thing. I asked if she knew what time it was and she said yes. I told her that I was going to report her and she said "Go ahead" and immediately hung up

Immigration scam

I received a phone call from the number stated above. I did not answer because I didn't recognize the phone number. I waited to see if a message was left, which did not happen, so I called the number back. The message states that I had reached immigration enforcement officer Alvarez leave a message. Then the automated response unit stated that no message could be left because the mail box was full. I called back a couple more times and got the same message. So when the number called back I promptly answered. The Indian gentleman asked if he was speaking to the owner of the phone. I said speaking. Then he stated that he was from Windows and wanted to return money I had paid for a computer issue that I should not been charged for. I told him I had no issues and that he needed to remove my number, stop calling me, and that I was going to report his number.

Support for IOS crash on Apple iPad

  • Monetary Loss: $50
Bold message flashes on my IPad browser to contact Apple support immediately for security breach. The phone was 18444586670. They claimed they needed my serial number of my iPad to reinsert a new IOS for $50. Since my iPad was supposedly compromised I had to pay for it with an Apple ITunes card purchased anywhere and give them the # on the back. After being disconnected, I was called back from a Beach Haven, NJ # 6092073947 and told it was worse than they thought (80% compromised) and I needed to install the full cleaning/security app for another $200 of ITunes cards. I called the real Apple Inc and confirmed I was hacked/scammed ou of $50

Scammed by Mashoutable

Received a pop-up telling me that my computer was infected and to call the above number. Since that time, I called and spoke with several people, and eventually, they "hijacked" my computer, telling me I had malware and ransomware. The individual I was speaking with wanted a minimum of $352.99 for one year of protection, and stated I needed to call monthly for a computer scan and cleaning. When I called him out, he got defensive, and started manipulating all aspects of my computer and turned on the camera. DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE POP-UPS!!!

received call from 2-062-617-7282, with person stating they were from Microsoft, that they had received signals from my computer indicating my personal information and all my files had been compromised and they were calling to help me resolve the problem. The person gave me an IP number and stated my name, and my address in an attempt to verify the call was official. I asked the person what is a SIS tray and the person then hung up and called back. I did not answer the phone the second call and instead called Microsoft support to determine whether or not the call was legitimate. I was informed Microsoft will not initiate contact unless a request is made.

I was also scammed and hacked on Saturday 27/2/16 Only realizing it was too late when the scammer start asking for my banking detail. I immediately switched off by computer, unfortunately too slow as he locked my pc with a password. Now I am battling to get my pc up and running again. Must I reload? Or how am I going to be able to fix this?

To user: grandpa, complaint #99 - Do not pay them! It is a scam. Take your computer to a local computer repair shop and have them remove all the viruses and check for damages.
