While searching the web on 12/23/19 for a recipe, my wife's laptop received a popup and alarm sound that could not be deleted. the popup gave a number to call representing that it was Microsoft to fix the problem. I spent 3 hours on the phone with several persons with Indian accents who used several downloaded PC cleanup softwares that appeared to cleanup the computer. They alleged that a child porn website was using the laptop to distribute child porn and showed some examples allegedly on the laptop. I authorized a $499.98 credit card charge that I will dispute as soon as it is posted and will cancel the card as soon as possible. I questioned their association with Microsoft and they displayed a MS certification which I printed. See attached.

Received a message on my computer about 3 - 4 months ago stating my computer had been hacked. Tried turning it off and then turning it back on, but still had msg on screen. Gave phone number to call saying it was a Microsoft number. Caller was able to access my computer and "show me" all the "hacks" on my pc. Was on phone for about 3 hours. I was stupid enough to give them money. Received a phone call today stating my email was "about to be" hacked and call them so they could stop it. Called several numbers back and no answer. Also tried to contact at pcfix247.com, but phone number on web page does not work. Tried to access PYD*techmantra247.net , but this web address could not be found. This is DEFINITELY A SCAM!!!
