Monetary Loss: $250
I attempted to purchase a puppy from an ad on the Internet. I sent the money for the puppy and twice now I have gotten excuses as to why she has not been shipped. I have requested further proof from this man and he sent more photos which after a deeper search, I found the same photos were placed on Flickr back in 2012. I also asked for a photo of him with the puppy. He sent me a photo of his girlfriend and verbally confirmed it was his girlfriend and come to find out, the photo is of Kelly Osbourne, from her Celebrity Internet page. Our first two conversations were fine via email. The rest were done via text messaging.
I have been scammed i supposedly purchased a dog & they keep adding more fees been weeks and i still have no dog & i'm fed up because i wanted to purchase it but im only 18 & threaten if i don't pay i will be sent to court & shit And i dont like ppl threatening to put my life in jeopardy & i haven't even lived to the fullest yet.
On 12/14/15 I saw an ad in the newspaper (online) for pug puppies and it said to text the phone # 412-568-3655 which I did. I received a text back stating two puppies (a male & a female) were available, provide my email address and he would forward pictures. Pictures were forwarded on 12/17/15 and from there we corresponded. If he texted he never used the initial (412) phone # again. The new phone is 225-800-0871. He said he was in NC and I could come see the puppies although it was quite a distance and the puppy could be shipped. I agreed that the puppy would have to be shipped. I asked him to send a video of the puppy which I did receive. We continued to correspond because I did not want the puppy until 12/30/15. I did speak with him once on the phone, at my request, but I could hardly understand him, plus the connection was terrible. He did tell me not to Western Union the money but to use MoneyGram. I asked him to send another video with OUR puppy and to put a red ribbon around the puppies neck so we could see her play, which he did. On 12/30/15 I went to a CVS and transferred the money via MoneyGram per his instructions to Penny Jackson of Charlotte, NC. I sent him a text and an email letting him know the money had been transferred. I continually texted him asking for flight details. In the meantime I received, what I thought was junk email from some website called "Animal Department" and the subject of the email was "Electronic Traveling Crate Needed For Your Dog". I finally heard back from Mr. Chang via email asking if I heard from "The Agency". I forwarded him the email from the "Animal Department" stating that all I received was junk mail but nothing from an Agency. I finally fully read the junk "Animal Department" junk mail and realized it was regarding the puppy and they were stating that they had the dog, the weather was very bad, and that I had to purchase this special crate for $900 to transport the dog. That $900 would have to be MoneyGram to Mr. Henry Thomas of Charlotte, NC. We communicated for several days with me sending many many emails and texts and one from him saying "they need more money". I have not received my money back and no puppy. A friend of mine contacted him to see if it was a scam and sure enough he sent her the same pictures and the same story of 2 puppies left, etc. I continue to send him emails and texts but no response. I am out $289.00.
I sent this breeder $500 to Atlanta Georgia and was supposed to receive my female French bulldog. I was sent a email with a fake intenary to pick up my puppy only to get to the airport and find that there was no puppy. The transport company they supposedly say they are then called and emailed me several times telling me I had to pay $1800 for pet insurance for the puppy. This happened on 1/4/16
I was looking to buy a puppy online on craigslist, they said they'd deliver the puppy and never did. I paid them and they never answered my calls etc and when they got back to me they claimed it was someone else.
