Received mail from Property Profile in an official envelope as if something I really needed. When received it was a copy of everything I received upon closing on my home. Cannot believe I was actually fooled by criminals.

Scam to get a copy of your current Grant Deed and Property Assessment Profile

This personalized letter looks legitimate as it contains our names, parcel #, and other specific location/lot information of our home. It goes into detail why they recommend all Ohio homeowners obtain a copy of their current grant deed and property a**essment profile. The first thing that tipped me off that this was a scam was the return address was in CA. If this was real, it would have been coming from somewhere in my county and/or state. Second, my name wasn't quite right which it would have been per the way it was noted in the closing documents. And lastly, the service fee is $86 which I know to be very high. You can obtain the appropriate records from the county for a fraction of that cost. This letter does note that this is a solitication, but still to a new homeowner, this can easily be mistaken as legitimate.

SCAM

We changed the names on our deed. Received a bill for $86.00 from Property Profile saying they will obtain a copy of our property assessment profile. Because they use "power software" and "cutting edge algorithms" they request a "nominal fee". Ridiculous that people get away with this.
