Rental property

I found a craigslist post for a house rental and I responded to it. They responded back by text and then by e mail. Sounded good. I then sent the information they asked for and they responded back. I started sensing something wasn't right because they never answered questions that I had. I decided to look up the phone number and it was a Florida number which they never would call me, just text. At this point things were pointing in the direction of a scam. I pulled up the address to see who owned it and found out the name she is using Mrs. Mary Bridge is not the property owner. I tracked the ip address of the emails coming from washington. They now have my full name and husband's name and our address. No bank info or soc. sec thank goodness but I am still worried. I made the mistake of looking for a place to live before I get there.

We were looking online for houses to rent or buy and came across this property on two different websites. One website said it was for sale and the other said it was for rent. In his email he said that money was of no importance that he was just tired of not being able to sale the property. When he called us he keep asking for funding before anything so we figured something wasn't right. So when it was late enough in the day because he called at six am we re-looked on the other website and found a number on there and contacted him. He contacted us back and let us know that it was a scam.

I was searching for a studio to rent and I came across a studio fairly close to where I live now and a good price of $875 monthly. I contacted the number and the man named Jose told us we could go to his office to sign a few papers before we could take a look at the studio. So my husband did and he also left $200 for deposit he said could refund at any time of we weren't happy with the services. After all the paperwork was done, he said it was ok to go see the studio and to call him once we were there and so we did, once we arrived we called him and he said the person who was suppose to show us the studio wasn't there. We've kept calling and there's always excuses.

I was searching Craigslist for rental property for my family to live. I contacted him, he seemed really nice and forthcoming of his situation and the urgency of needing it rented. He seemed very religious and talked about his family, he was a very nice gentleman. I was highly interested in this place and so I filled out an application. However, then I did a little more research. Thank god I did, because it was a complete scam. I felt so dumb for falling for it but I want to prevent others from becoming a victim.
