Rental home scam

I am a Realtor and own a real estate company. Scammers copy our legitimate rental ads and re-post them with much lower rents. This scammer told a woman to send a $550 deposit via Western Union and then they would send the keys. They also told her the home was vacant (it is not vacant) and that she could stop by and take a look. The Western Union request made her suspicious enough to call a Realtor, who checked with me to confirm that this is a scam.

I filled out a request for information on Trivot and this guy contacted me back via text saying he was at work and could only text. He stated he was going to send me an email on how to apply for the home. The home he is trying to rent is actually for Sale, I contacted the realtor, SOME ONE PLEASE ARREST THIS MAN FOR FRAUD. Not everyone is smart enough to do research, just imagine how many people sent money to him. ....

My initial plan was to sell the house but I find it difficult to let go this adorable home, I have decided to rent home to a responsible tenant who is willing to take very good care of it in our absence. Pets are allowed as long as they are not destructive. The rent is $700 and security deposit is $900 and total move-in cost is $1600 and all the utilities are included in the monthly rent, as i am in a governmental programmer that sponsors my utilities on monthly basis and pets are also allowed.You can drive-by to view the outside and neighborhood of the house and get back to me with the rental questionnaire filled out.

N.B: I want you to know that we never had an intention of renting out the home until we got down here when my wife got sick so we had to rent out the home so we can use the monthly rent as a source of income to carter for my wife and the kids,so should in case we had an intention of renting the home then we would have drop down the keys with someone to handle the rental on our behalf but since we don't then that is why we had to bring the keys over here,so we will be mailing out the keys to you as soon as we finalize the rental processes OK?

He said he had a house for me to rent said if I sent him the deposit he would send my keys and documents then he said his lawyer suggested that I give him full rent and deposit. I sent him 500 then 400 ... Then he said there was 200$ fee for next day shipping

I was looking for a place to rent on apartment.com.
I sent an email to contact property. Janie reply saying that she & her husband is in Florida due to their job. I ran a report in the whitepage & find out that she sold the house to Jeffry Gosal back in Dec 2015.
I went to his house to asked about this and he told me that Janie was the previous owner & he is the owner now.

This is a money gram/rental apartment scam

No. I am very traditional. I have to see the place and speak to the neighbors before I rent a place. I have a good friend from college who is in law enforcement. He conducts investigations. He explained to me that I have to be very careful to do things in a traditional way. He is a good friend and a veteran police officer. So, unless I can see the place and talk to the neighbors, I am not interested. Good luck to you. I hope you can find someone.
