I received a phone call from John Cooper SSA officer from the state of Texas stating my social security number has been tied to criminal activity: money laundering, drug trafficking, and other illegal activity. I gave him my social number without thinking this through. He told me I could receive his help or wind up in court. I agreed to his help and gave him my personal information. I realize it was a big mistake. He threatened me with cancellation of my social security. I've just gone through my enrollment for 2020 for medicare supplement and my prescription drug coverage. He claimed to be calling from Texas. I looked at the origin of his call and saw that the call came from Wapakoneta, Ohio. The number he was calling from 419-978-3325. I tried calling this number and got an answer saying the number or code is incorrect. Please help me a.s.a.p. My name is W**** P. , Jr. and my phone number is ****-****-*****. John Cooper called me on my back up phone which is. That should have given me a flag right then but it did not. Please call me on my phone, I have left a message on my SSA contact in Fredericksburg, Va explaining what happened. I am very sorry for what I have done and frankly scared to death. What can be done?
