I have been scammed by Ultimate Survey Reports

  • Monetary Loss: $1725
I applied for a mystery shopping on Ultimate Survey Services. They gave me a check of $1725 and asked me to buy 3 gift cards amounting to $500 each and send the completed survey report and the details of the gift card to the email address: [email protected] the check processes and I complete the assignments. Late, the amount is being withdrawn from my account as the check is fraud. Now the gift card balance is $0 and my account went into overdraft,

TOTAL SCAM! Thank God for reportscam.com!

I got this survey offer through my school, seemed like a good way to make extra cash so I agreed. Got the packet in the mail and they sent me a check for $2,250, I could deduct $200 for myself and use $2000 to buy 4 $500 gift cards at Best Buy. Not sure what the other $50 was for but I smelled a scam and Googled and sure enough found this site which listed the same exact email address and phone number that was given to me. So I will not be participating in this, obviously, and ripping the check up. Remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I also Googled the name from the sender, not David Sapin, it was Mary Mouammar of xx Flat Shoals Rd, Covington, GA 30016. It was funny to me that Mary from Georgia was sending me the packet but David with a Los Angeles number was the one I needed to contact. The check looks legit but the letter looks super spammy.

Wife received email through school offer.

My wife received and email from her school about a mystery shopper job offer. She applied and 3 weeks later received a check for $2,250 and a survey letter to be filled out and completed. The letter instructed her to buy 4 Best Buy gift cards of $500 a piece. And keep $200 for herself. The extra $50 I assume was meant to cover taxes on the gift cards. The return address on the envelope came from Bronx NY.

My daughter through her college mail system, received offer to be a mystery shopper for $200-$300 per week. Once we got the packet, there was a check for $1900 and they request that you go buy 4 gift cards from Best Buy (using your own money), scratch off the back of each card to reveal the numbers, take photos and text them to the given number, in may case it was 972-347-0281. I smelled a scam and a simple search took me to your website, thank God, I was assured that this is a scam and stay away from it. Thank you to reportscam.com.

Mystery Shopper Scam

On 10/26/2019 I received a check in the mail, cashiers check, for the amount of 1900.00. The letter stated that I am to purchase gift cards from Best Buy in the amount of 1700.00 and get paid 200. for my wages. After purchasing the gift cards, you got it, scratch of the codes and text photos of the cards back to the company, that does not exist. I cannot count how many times I get these checks in the mail and tried to report it the FBI but they never got back to me. Isn't there some way to get these crooks and put them were they belong?
