Daily harassment calls for car warranty extensions
Mar 24, 2020
Monetary Loss: $0
I receive daily calls from above listed number that begins as follows: Hi my name is Angela, my records show that your car warranty has expired, would you like to speak with someone to explore your options." My standard response is no I already have car warranty protection and I don't want to receive these calls anymore. These telemarketers have been calling us even before my car repair warranty ran out-well in excess of a year and almost daily including weekends. I renewed my warranty protection, with another company, but nonetheless they call us daily and sometimes more than once a day. Sometimes these harassers will call and when you redial there number, the robo answer will say you have reached a number that is unavailable-or something to that effect. I tell them everyday and they continue to harass us, that I don't want to receive their calls anymore. I told Angela or Angie, that I will report them to the FTC, if I don't follow up with my verbal admonishment than that will give them license to continue to badger our family.
Scammer calls daily although the number has been blocked. Ask to lower credit card interest rates for 2,000 dollars to be placed on one of my cards having a high rate. on 3/23 same caller ask me to give him information so that he could send me my government stimulus check. the checks have not been approved or sent out according to the news reports so i know this had to be a scam.
I have been called by this guy, Lee, (that's what he said his name was), many, many times. The same guy every time. He has left numerous voice messages that just says "is Chad there?". He has called from a bunch of different caller ids (None, my own phone number, unknown, other actual phone numbers that I didn't write down, some with my area code and some with other area codes and these were the latest phone numbers that I did write down - 1-252-595-5503, 1-980-283-8801). They got me for $25 the first time to support the police. What made me suspicious was the next time he called he said that the last time I supported the Firemen as well as, he talked to me and I said that I was busy and for him to call me back. Like I said above, I gave to the police and I never talked to him and said that I was busy and for him to call me back. I told him that I didn't have the money and he tried to talk me into giving anyway, but I hung up. He kept calling over and over. The other day, he called again and started his speech and I tried to stop him and he kept talking over me so I hung up. I put a complaint in with the "do not call list" website and the guy did an investigation and told me they were scammers and that he couldn't locate them. Lee the scammer, still called me again the next day, which is today, and once again he tried to talk over me and I hollered at him to stop and told him that they were being investigated because they were scammers and to not call me again. He got quiet and said, "oh, really". Later on today, I called the number back and he answered and he started right into his speech again and I stopped him and I said that I was curious about where the money they raised went to. He was silent. Why he has called me asking me for money for the police, firemen and veterans if his organization was for the police? He said, "yes, we ask for money for all of those organizations". Again I asked, where does the money go? He was silent again. I said that I looked them up and I am seeing that they are scammers and I was also told by an investigator that they were scammers. He said, "oh, really?". I said, well are you scamming people? He was silent so I said, "that answers it for me, do not call me again and I am placing a complaint" and I hung up. I know that they have a website www.americanpoliceofficersalliance.com. I don't really care about the $25 I lost. We live and we learn, but I have no tolerance for these scammers, because the elderly are more gullible and they are more likely to give large amounts of money, thinking they are doing a good thing for people.
