Monetary Loss: $649.99
Just received an email from McAfee secure that I authorized a charge of $649.99. I and no one else authorized.
While trying to register for a vaccine appointment my computer was locked and a message to call Microsoft appeared.I talked to a Claire Davis how said she was an employee of Microsoft Emp, # MS=***** She told me to download a website that allowed her to take over my computer. I ended up with someone who told me to get encripted cards from the grocery store. that person told me not to tellthe store what I was doing. He told me to buy 4 $500. gift cards even though the total for the unauthorized charges (China for BitCoin, and Thiland for medication). was $6000. Someone had control of my computer for a couple hours. Did they install malware on my computer? How would know and what do I do about that?
Received email saying they are charging to renew services I did not request. Mistyping the title leads me to think this is bogus. Of corse I do not want to receive any charges.
Please let me know if this is a scam and how to make sure I and not charged.
