Monetary Loss: $30.89
Went to truthfinders site, in hopes that i find my daughter. After a full day, had no idea they were charging me, not only $1.00, but $29.89 also. I'm 79, and didn't realize i was supposed to cancel, within 5 days. Got nowhere with their site, they weren't even close! checked my bank statement, that's how i found out they charged me. Sneaky. They say they will send me a refund.Next step is federal trade comm. They won't scam this old lady!! [i suggest the same for anyone else using this service--but first--don't use this site.
I decided for s**** and giggles to track my deceased wife she has been dead for 18 years they were giving me or trying to give me all kind of information on her what a rip off maybe they ought to check with IRS to find out if the person's had a death benefit paid out
I tried to find information on one person. They generated a report, which ended up being about some 90 year old...not even close to the person I was looking for. In return, they sold my email address. Received nearly 800 (not exaggerating) within a week. These were not just ads from legitimate businesses but all kinds of pornography and other distasteful emails. Am having to delete my email account because of their unscrupulous methods.
I saw a "free" site I answered some questions. Toward the end I f kind it was a subscription service I would not pay for and backed out. Needless to say I am bring bombarded with e mails from them. I wrote to their help dept and was told how to unsubscribe. I did this and received an acknowlegment of a forthcoming e mail. Never received thus, and find they are still abusing my e mail by making sure to bombard me with more e mails. I would like a cease and desist now.
I can elect this within 30 minutes via their phone can elation system. Then, my credit card was billed a month later......Tried to phone but on Hold for hour. Tried to use the feature where you "do not lose your place I the phone line up" but never got the call. Searched myself and found nothing valid. Immediately canceled. Have now sent emails which return as undeliverable. Need credit of $27.78 or will continue to report complaints with BBB.
