Craigslist fake buyer requests VIN# report

  • by: Craigsuser
  • #49340
  • Jun 30, 2018
  • Monetary Loss: $25
Fake buyer made multiple requests for VIN report from this specific screening company: vinsafecheck.com. Link in email translated to URL: https://www.vincheckup.com/?landing=home&item=8&exitValue=ON
Evidently, paid way more than necessary for appears to be legitimate report. Buyer evidently must get some sort of kickback by convincing people like me to buy reports?

Scammed by vin checkup

  • by: Rgendron
  • #48974
  • Jun 19, 2018
  • Monetary Loss: $14.95
Paid to get information on truck with vin #. They gave all info but when I tried to check another vin# on second vehicle they wanted 9.95 for info on second vehicle! Turns out what I paid was just a membership fee but you don’t find that out unless you read all the “about us” or help needed! It does not tell you this at all without digging way deeper and after you have paid the membership fee and created an account!
