Car sale scam
Jul 11, 2017
Monetary Loss: $0
selling car on craigslist, got call from chris kelly, said after several inquires that he wanted a vin check, and he highly recommended checkupvin.com, and cheaper than carfax.
Just a scam.
Received an email from a fake "potential buyer" about my Craigslist ad, suspiciously asking questions about information already described in the post. Thinking that it might be a distracted buyer that didn't read the whole ad, I continued. On the next days, "Blass Kramer" insisted I buy a "vinchecknow.com" report for him, "because he needs to drive two hours to come check the car" -- googled the vincheckup site and BOOM, you're here like me.
just like the other complaints, I had an add in Craigslist and Annie asked that I get this report. it was full of false (accidents, color, etc) info an she disappeared. just a scam to get you to pay the $20
