This afternoon I received an automated call stating I had committed tax fraud and I was required to call the above provided number immediately. I called and was connected with someone who identified himself as Bob with a mid-eastern accent. when I asked what this was about he was very vague and indicated that this could be fixed. I yelled at him for quite a while and questioned how "Bob" could have that accent and that I had not just fallen off the turnip truck. I did not give him any personal info .

I have received numerous calls from the number provided stating they are calling from the IRS. They have tried to contact me for the last six months and never received a response from me. Now they are considering this matter as an intentional fraud and lawsuit has been filed under the name of the IRS State and you may call our department number for more information.

Phone Call/You have Federal Arrest Warrant For Tax Fraud

  • by: MKR

  • Monetary Loss: $0
I received a phone call from the above phone number, the recording was very fast, giving the name of a woman named "Becky" and a Federal Badge number" said she was a IRS Agent and there was a warrant out for my arrest for TAX Fraud. The message said that if I did not respond this immediately that she would have to come and arrest me. I called the phone number, and a man answered the phone as : "US Treasury Department/IRS, my name is Alan. I asked him to identify himself again because he said it so fast. He than gave me this badge number: IRM-565-07. He told me that he is aware of a lot of scams, but this is not a scam. He told me to call on another phone the same number, and another person could pick up and verify it is the IRS. I got very scared and nervous, and told him I had never committed any tax fraud and because I was on SSD, I had not had to file any taxes for several years. I am bedridden currently. I told him I was confused by the warrant for my arrest. He hung up on me.

I called my local police department, and they suggested that I report this fraud immediately to Federal Government. It is a fraud, and many people in my area have been scammed.

On my phone: the area was listed as Abbeville, LA with this phone number: 337-422-7120. However, when Alan picked up the phone, he did not seem to know this was the phone number. It was also a delayed time as the phone number seemed to ring and go through some clicks before being connected. I am concerned about charges now to my phone.

This man had a heavy Jamaican accent, but spoke very good English. There were sounds of people speaking in the background too. It sounded like a busy atmosphere, not like an office. I have called the IRS before about matters in the past--this was not like that phone call at all. The agent's don't give out badge numbers but very long ID numbers. There is no low mumbling and people talking in the background. This whole situation did not seem correct.

Alan wanted my social security number, which I DID NOT GIVE TO HIM. He also asked me for "identity numbers" which I did not know what he meant. I believe he meant my social security number--which I never give out over the phone. He finally just hung up on me.

I just received this threatening call from 817-376-9769 Has me totally shaken up! (Called Legal Sheild about it..should have googled the number first.)This person tells you they are 'official" give you their name and badge number.Says you owe the IRS x$ ..they quote IRS violations you have committed and are now suing you..these awful people threaten to seize assets, and report you to the police and have the police lock you up for 72 hrs!! I kept asking why we did not receive official notification from IRS...was told I have the optiion of going to court to fight the IRS..or settling out of court. When I said I'd do that( I know I should have smelled a rat!) he transferred me to another foreign person who said I needed tto decide now..I asked about a scam..he said he was calling the police dept and they'd be here in 30 mi to lock me up! How awful is this!!! I will report them to the Police!!
